Ready to Plan the 2015 Orcas Gathering! August 12-16
If you’re reading this post then chances are at some time in the past you, or your children, or your parents, or your friends, or especially all of the above have attended the Orcas Gathering at Seabeck. Over the years we’ve met friends we didn’t know we had, and reunited with friends we hadn’t seen in years. We made art we might never have made otherwise. Listened to and discussed stories we might never have discovered. Watched some friends grow up. Watched some friends grow old. Since we began some of us have been born. A few have passed away. Most of us have complained about the food, but most of us have enjoyed our conversations around those big round tables. We’ve played games. Sung songs. And made memories.
The coolest thing about the Orcas Gathering is it’s always been what we make it.
So this is an invitation to come make the Orcas Gathering again. And bring those children, bring those parents, bring your friends, and in particular bring yourself! Forward this message to others you think would like to come. And let me know!
David’s organized the gathering the last two years. This year he needs your help.
Help getting the word out through email, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and SnapChat.
Help organizing activities — crafts, discussions, games, talent extravaganzas, bonfires, swimming, and [your favorite here] — for adults and near-adults.
Help collecting photos old and new for an evening slideshow.
A little help managing registration and publicity, and a little more help wrangling rosters and room assignments and communications with the Seabeck staff.
If you can help please let me know. If you’re coming let me know that too. If you’re inviting others definitely let me know.
Last August we paid the deposit, in October we sent in the initial paperwork so they have what they need. What else do you need to make it all happen again this year?
Thank you!
